Today was the day Google was sending 100,000 invites to ordinary users. I had submited my email long ago to be in this list. But I didn’t get any. I wasn’t that hopeful since by the time I got to know about it, for sure there were more than 100,000 people who knew sooner. But I checked my email every couple of minutes anyway!
I am also waiting for Windows 7 to arrive. I’ve heard so many good things about it and I wanna clean out my laptop and install the new Windows on it, like a fresh start.
Yes, I am one of those people who wants to try all the new things. I get excited about everything new and feel left out if I’m not one of the first ones to try it. But at the same time I have a certain resistance to switch. As long as I can keep my old tools I am OK with having new ones. But if this means letting go, I can’t do it that easily.
One of those is Windows. All around me people are switching to Macs. We even bought a Mac as our family desktop. All the cool people have Macs. But I still love my Windows. No, I can’t say I love it. I get frustrated with it. With how slow it is. How I have to be so careful with viruses. How noisy my PC is and how it doesn’t have the pretty glass screen Macs have. But I feel at home in Windows. I’ve lived in its environment since my 8th grade. In the Macro class I go to 90% of people have Macs. A lot of it has to do with the back to school promotion Apple has with the free ipod touch, but I’m starting to feel left out. Good thing we don’t have the money to buy a new laptop for me and my dear Vaio still works, so I don’t have to decide now. Let’s see how Windows 7 is. Maybe PCs become the fashion again!
